When KölnMusik launched the PhilharmonieVeedel concerts in 2006 including a series especially for babies, it turned out to be the spark that caught fire. Back then nobody else in Germany was doing anything of that nature, but the idea has now taken off in many cities, and in Cologne demand is so high that the concerts often sell out well in advance. As well as the »baby« concerts there's an equally popular »family« series for children of kindergarten age and now a new »mini« series for children aged one to four, also performed in the community centres in Porz, Nippes, Chorweiler and Kalk and the Comedia theatre in the Südstadt.
