The Philharmonie is going onto the streets: Launching in 2006, the project is designed to reach out to children and families by staging a broad variety of concerts in local neighbourhoods or "Veedels" at prices all can afford. Dubbed "PhilharmonieVeedel", the project is distributed across four local venues, namely the Bürgerhaus Kalk, the Engelshof in Porz, the Comedia in der Südstadt and the Bürgerzentrum Chorweiler. The series "Baby" is directed at mothers-to-be or both parents and their babies who wish to relax together listening to classical music. "Familie" is aimed at young children who together with their parents or with the kindergarten are keen to explore the world of music - from the classical to the modern - in an engaging and playful manner. "Schule" invites classes of school pupils to discover the joy of music in the mornings.
All tickets for Veedel concerts are also valid VRS travel tickets and are available online through our new forgery-proof print-at-home system.
